Dubai Office of the Future is the First 3D printed commercial building in the world
DUBAI, February 20 – Winsun 3D (Yingchuang Construction Technology) 3D printed the landmark “Future Office” for the Dubai Municipal Government in 2016. It is now the world’s first 3D printed commercial building and is included in the Guinness Book of Records.
The 3D-printer that was used by Winsun 3D, was measuring 6 meter (20 ft) high, 36 meters (120 ft) long and 12 meters (40 ft) wide was used to print the building. The entire structure was printed using a giant cement printer, then assembled on site. Printing took 17 days and was installed on in 2 days.
It consists of 17 modules, with a width of 13 meters and a height of 3 meters. It will be transported by sea after printing at Yingchuang Suzhou factory. The installation takes only 2 days. The office opened in May 2016. The UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, Dubai Chief Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum unveiled it.
